Words of Wisdom from the Babylon Bee – The Catholic Church has been in transition for many years as relates to core doctrine. Even before Pope Francis… all the way back in 2003, the Catholic Catechism #846 offered the quote….
“Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience – those too may achieve eternal salvation.”
Of course Pope Francis both confirmed and extended this viewpoint in a public announcement at the conclusion of his ‘one-world religion’ meeting with the leadership of Muslims and Hindus, among other false teachings (details).
Francis further broadened the Catholic view on the LGBTQ community by stating, “If a person is gay and seeks God and has goodwill, who am I to judge him?” he asked reporters in 2013. “Who am I to judge?” (details). This is in line with his progressive views that are in conflict with both the Bible and past Catholic dogma.
So, as we look to the future of the Catholic church, one could ask, what is Catholicism today? More importantly, what will be the position of the Catholic church on major doctrine in the years to come?
