Subtitle: Prayer is an important part of the life of a Christian.
Excerpt: A 2025 Pew Research study shows a decline in daily prayer among Americans, with 44% praying daily compared to 58% in 2007. The decline is attributed to an increase in the “religiously unaffiliated” and a general decrease in prayer frequency across various Christian denominations.

On a more serious note, according to a 2025 study by Pew Research, forty-four percent of Americans pray every day. One might see this as a favorable number. However, in a study done in 2007 called the Religious Landscape Study, 58% answered yes to the same question. Pew offered two contributing factors for the drop:
- A significant increase in the “religiously unaffiliated.”
- There has been a general decline in prayer within Catholics, evangelical Protestants, and mainline Protestants.
In the Pew Study it was shown that the frequency of prayer also varied by race, gender, and age.
- Black Americans were the most likely to pray (64%).
- Women more than men (50% vs. 37%).
- Older adults more than younger.
