Words of Wisdom from the Babylon Bee – My take on the matter …
Seventh Day Adventists believe in salvation by God’s grace and mankind’s faith in Jesus Christ alone (Ephisians 2:8-9). Their core theology on the subject of salvation is sound from a Biblical Christian perspective.
As with every Christian denomination, they do have some differences in Biblical interpretations. For example, Adventists worship the Lord in a formal way on Saturday rather than the more traditional Sunday. More significantly, they believe that when one dies, we enter “soul sleep” until Christ returns, at which point the saved go to Heaven and the lost are immediately burned up in Hell (often referred to as annihilationism). For many Biblical Christians, this belief is considered heretical. However, frankly, none of us can claim a perfect grasp of God’s theology. What is most important is to ensure we find ourselves sitting at the feet of Jesus at our physical passing, getting clear answers to a myriad of questions we have accumulated over a lifetime. Seventh-Day Adventists will be in that group untangling their theology with the rest of us.
