Embarrassed Jay Jones …

Realizes He's Only Supposed To Want To Murder Kids Before They're Born

Words of Wisdom from the Babylon Bee – For anyone living without the advantages of television and the internet, Jay Jones is currently running for Virginia attorney general. During typical opposition research aimed at damaging the careers of those courageous enough to seek elected office, Jones was quoted as saying that former Virginia House Speaker Todd Gilbert deserved “two bullets to the head,” further expressing a desire to “p*** on [his and other Republican] graves.” The statement attributed to him in the Babylon Bee article further expressed a wish that “Jennifer Gilbert’s children would die.”

Of course these public comments are beyond acceptable limits regardless of the intent. This is especially true for elected office, much less the highest position of legal authority in the state of Virginia.

Abortion

Further, to the point of the Babylon Bee on the subject of abortion:

  • Jones helped write a bill that would have cut the number of doctors needed to approve late-term abortions from three to one. The measure would also get rid of the requirement that doctors prove that continuing a pregnancy would “substantially and irreparably” harm a woman’s health. H.B. 2491
  • Jones voted for a bill that would let health insurance plans offered in Virginia through the health benefits exchange cover abortions. H.B. 1276
  • Jones voted to get rid of abortion restrictions that were put in place when Republicans were in charge of Virginia’s General Assembly. The bill got rid of rules like the 24-hour waiting period before an abortion and the need for women who want an abortion to have an ultrasound and counseling. It also got rid of the rule that only doctors could do abortions, so nurse practitioners could do them too. H.B. 980
Psalm 139:13-14 - For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
