Theology on the Lighter Side – Who was the best financial planner in the Bible? – Pharaoh’s daughter—she went to the bank and pulled out a little prophet!

Of course the joke is a reference to baby Moses, found and raised by Pharaoh’s daughter. Moses became a prophet, leader, and lawgiver, leading the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt. He was called by God to receive the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai and lead his people through the parting of the Red Sea and the sojourn that lasted for forty years in the wilderness.

Interestingly, God did not allow Moses to enter the Promised Land. After all that Moses had done to faithfully serve the Lord, because of an incident where he struck a rock rather than talked to it, that single disobedience is what the Lord pointed to in …

Deuteronomy 32:51-52 – Because you broke faith with me in the midst of the people of Israel at the waters of Meribah-kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin, and because you did not treat me as holy in the midst of the people of Israel. For you shall see the land before you, but you shall not go there, into the land that I am giving to the people of Israel.

Our God is righteous and just. Though we may not understand His ways today, we will understand why things happen the way they do on the other side of the grave. What God commands of us is to have faith to trust Him and follow Him regardless of whether we fully understand Him.
