A Biblical Christian worldview perspective – As Christians we spend our Sundays in church studying God’s word. Many of us have weekday Bible studies, prayer meetings, and family devotions, etc. And yet, the only “knowledge” we actually need to know is Christ and Him crucified for our sins as our Lord and Savior (Luke 10:27).
Our sin nature, which never leaves us, allows for cognitive dissonance, or the ability to hold two unreconcilable beliefs at the same time. As Christians, we know exactly what God has called us to do and we love Him as our Lord, but we so often don’t do His will. With the power of the Holy Spirit within us, we continue to, as Paul so eloquently laments…
“When I want to do right, evil lies close at hand. For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being, but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members.” – Romans 7:23
